About Us

Off-Grid camping is camping without power, and toilets unless of course, you have an RV, and or Toy hauler with a generator.  Both by the way are welcome at our forest.  Being spread out away from everything provides a unique experience letting people experience nature closer than state parks or other ways of camping allow.  Once you try it, we hope you fall in love the way we did!

After our daughter faced a life-threatening illness we were blessed she got better.  When she was better we purchased a toy hauler and decided to travel from Wisconsin to Arizona with our UTV and ATV.  It was an amazing experience but, dispersed camping isn't exactly standardized.  After the experience, we decided we were going to change the way people camp.

When camping at Friess Forest you help preserve our forest land. Each site is 10 to 20 acres per campsite.   This model allows for conservation while encouraging exploration and a sense of adventure.  Our mission is that we don't lose our sense of wonder in nature.  Our idea of nothing in and nothing out leave no trace camping keeps the forest in a natural state.  

Our long-term goal is to purchase land from coast to coast and allow easy booking for nationwide road trips.  This is a low-cost solution to explore the united states while your money is being used to preserving large pieces of land under responsible management.
